EAW - New A6M5 Model 52 Zero - 653rd Air Group, Second Koku Sentai, one of 14 Zeros divided up and based aboard the carriers Zuiho, Chiyoda, and Chitose June 1944 for the second bBattle of the Philippine Seas - the last great carrier versus carrier battle ever fought.

The model is for the most numerous version of the A6M5. This was the Model 52 which had a shortened wing to improve speed and roll rate while eliminating the folding wingtips, combined with a more powerful engine and new cowling design. It improved top speed to 351 mph, a 20 mph increase over the A6M2. It still retained the same armament of 2 x 7.7mm cowl machine guns and 2 x 20mm wing guns, but with longer cannon barrels giving improved accuracy at longer ranges.

The 3DZ development - from my earlier A6M2 model - and skin are my work. The cockpit and wingview are by Claudio.

To use place ALL of the contents of the folders into your EAW folder. This model is intended for use with Charles Gunst's ECAPanel in the FW190 slot. The model is compatible with Pacific Tide2.

A non-markings PCX is included for anyone who would like to add their own markings, with my blessings.

Cheers,

Captain Kurt
